34 MOVES2026
- VISITDJ JacobsDEAT TennesseeJacobs was in Neyland Stadium for Tennessee's game against Texas, reported on September 29 by A to Z Sports and by Sports Illustrated's Vols on SI, and announced a week earlier by Vols Wire citing Rivals. Both reports call it his younger brother Dawson's visit. 247Sports' timeline had not entered it when read on September 29.
- VISITJordan HallRBOfficial visit for the Kent State game, reported by Garrick Hodge of Bucknuts on September 17. It is his second trip to Ohio State in three weeks, after the Ball State opener, where he was offered.
- VISITDJ JacobsDEAT GeorgiaJacobs was in Sanford Stadium for Georgia's whiteout against Western Kentucky, reported by On3 the morning of the game and by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and 247Sports afterward. 247Sports' own timeline classifies it as an unofficial visit.
- VISITDJ JacobsDEJacobs was in Ohio Stadium for the Ball State opener, reported by Land-Grant Holy Land twice: Gene Ross on September 7 and Cole VanWiechen on September 10. It is the first of the three fall game trips he was reported in August to be planning, and the only one of the three that has a date.
- OFFERJordan HallRBOhio State offered the Cincinnati Princeton back on game day in Columbus, two days after he reopened his recruitment. He is the only uncommitted running back on this board, in a 2027 class that has none.
- REOPENJordan HallRBDecommitted from Miami (Ohio) two days before his Ohio State visit. He carried no Buckeye offer that day.

Commit dates verified against the 247Sports and On3 commit pages. A miss is dated to the day the recruit pledged somewhere else, and a transfer or a reopening to the day the move was reported. A reopening is a recruit Ohio State is pursuing leaving another school's class. A move we covered links to the story; every other name links to its profile. See commit coverage.
On the board
Prospects Ohio State is still recruiting in the class of 2027: the uncommitted, and the pledges elsewhere the staff is working to flip. Each line carries the reporting it came from.
Summer Creek, Humble, TX
Committed to Texas Tech on November 20, 2025. Named as an Ohio State flip target; Ohio State had an official visit on the calendar for May 29, 2026 (On3 / Rivals, Hunter Shelton, April 7, 2026).
Reporting: Eleven Warriors, July 6, 2026
Gainesville, Gainesville, GA
Committed to Alabama on Sunday, May 31 and shut down his recruitment, the seventh pledge in the Tide's 2027 class. Ohio State hosted him for the spring game in April and had a June 12 official visit on the calendar that he committed before taking.
Full reporting
Named entering August as one of Ohio State's two likeliest running back flip targets. Rivals ranked him the No. 6 running back nationally on June 1, 2026 (SI / CFB HQ); the board's rank column stores the 247Sports Composite, which files him No. 226 nationally and No. 16 among running backs, read August 15, 2026. The reporting that names the school also names the state, which is the fact most likely to be guessed wrong here: it is Gainesville, Georgia, not the Gainesville in Florida or the one in Texas.
Reporting: Cleveland.com, Andrew Gillis, August 3, 2026 (flip target); 247Sports, Brett Greenberg, May 31, 2026 (commitment day: "announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Sunday afternoon"); Sports Illustrated / CFB HQ, James Parks, June 1, 2026 (ranking, school)
Mustang, Mustang, OK
Committed to Oklahoma in June. Ohio State is still pursuing him. 247Sports moved him to five stars in its June 10 rankings update (News On 6, June 11, 2026).
Reporting: Eleven Warriors, July 1, 2026
- Missouri
- Ohio State
- Penn State
Princeton, Cincinnati, OH
Uncommitted, with a commitment date of October 23 and a final three of Missouri, Ohio State and Penn State: he told Rivals' Hayes Fawcett on October 1, and Hunter Shelton of Rivals reported it that evening. Ohio State has offered him.
Full reporting
He took his official visit to Ohio State for the Kent State game on Saturday, September 19. Garrick Hodge of Bucknuts on 247Sports reported the visit that afternoon and Mick Walker of Lettermen Row the next day; Dan Hessler of Land-Grant Holy Land reported on September 22 that no date had been set yet. It was his second trip to Columbus in three weeks, announced by Hodge on September 17. He decommitted from Miami (Ohio) on September 3, 2026, reported the same day by Dave Clark of the Cincinnati Enquirer and by Greg Wilson of Buckeye Sports Bulletin, and stamped Sep 3, 2026 on his own 247Sports timeline. He had been pledged to the RedHawks since June 7. He took the game-day visit to Ohio State for the Ball State opener on September 5 and the offer came that day: Hall announced it on Instagram from Columbus, the Cincinnati Enquirer's Alex Harrison reported it that afternoon, and 247Sports' Garrick Hodge reported it the same day. His 247Sports page now carries Ohio State on a list of nine offers, read September 5, 2026; the same list read eight without them on August 29 and again on September 4. The offer followed Princeton's 49 to 6 win over Colerain on Friday, September 4, in which the Enquirer reports he ran for 100 yards and four touchdowns. Five other schools had offered in the five days after Princeton beat Archbishop Moeller 31-24 on August 20, Penn State first.
Reporting: Cincinnati Enquirer, Alex Harrison, September 5, 2026 (the Ohio State offer); 247Sports, Garrick Hodge, September 5, 2026 (the same offer); 247Sports' Jordan Hall player page, read September 5, 2026 (the nine-school offer list); Cincinnati Enquirer, Dave Clark, September 3, 2026 and Buckeye Sports Bulletin, Greg Wilson, September 3, 2026 (the decommitment); Land-Grant Holy Land, Caleb Houser, September 4, 2026; 247Sports / Bucknuts, Garrick Hodge, September 17, 2026 (the official visit); 247Sports / Bucknuts, Garrick Hodge, September 19, 2026 and On3 / Lettermen Row, Mick Walker, September 20, 2026 (the visit taken); Land-Grant Holy Land, Dan Hessler, September 22, 2026 (no commitment date then); Rivals, Hunter Shelton, October 1, 2026 (the October 23 date and the final three)
Off the board
Recruits Ohio State was in on this cycle who went somewhere else. A board is only honest if it shows the losses too.
Princeton, Cincinnati, OH
He plays for Princeton, not Taft: the Cincinnati Enquirer reported the transfer on December 12, 2025 and this board carried the old school until September 8, 2026. The Cincinnati native took an Ohio State official visit June 12 to 14, then visited Michigan the next weekend and pledged there.
Reporting: Eleven Warriors and Buckeyes Wire, July 1, 2026 (the Michigan commitment); Cincinnati Enquirer, Alex Harrison, December 12, 2025 (the transfer to Princeton)
Catholic, Baton Rouge, LA
Committed to Florida State one day after his Ohio State official visit.
Reporting: Eleven Warriors, July 6, 2026; 247Sports, Chris Nee, June 8, 2026 (the Florida State commitment)
Norco, Norco, CA
Lost during June official visit season.
Reporting: Eleven Warriors, July 6, 2026; Deseret News, Jay Drew, June 27, 2026 (the BYU commitment)
Glenville, Cleveland, OH
Lost during June official visit season.
Reporting: Eleven Warriors, July 6, 2026; cleveland.com, Andrew Gillis, June 25, 2026 (the Colorado commitment)
Millard South, Omaha, NE
Ohio State explored a flip. Taylor reaffirmed his Nebraska pledge.
Reporting: 247Sports, reported late June 2026
Upperman, Cookeville, TN
The only uncommitted tight end holding an Ohio State offer. He committed to Ole Miss on July 9, and Ohio State was not among the finalists he named. The class still has no tight end.
Reporting: Eleven Warriors, July 6, 2026; On3 and The Tennessean, July 9, 2026
Lawrence North, Indianapolis, IN
Picked Indiana on July 17, becoming the first composite five-star to commit to the Hoosiers.
Reporting: Eleven Warriors, July 17, 2026; Inside the Hall, July 17, 2026
Baylor School, Chattanooga, TN
Five-star running back committed to Tennessee over Ohio State and Ole Miss, the Vols' 18th 2027 pledge; No. 2 back and No. 10 overall in the class.
Reporting: ESPN, July 22, 2026; CBS Sports, July 22, 2026
Massillon Washington, Massillon, OH
Committed to Oregon on August 14, 2026, announcing on the Pat McAfee Show; he never took an official visit to Columbus.
Reporting: Canton Repository, August 14, 2026; cleveland.com, August 14, 2026
Ohio's other two top-rated 2027 cornerbacks also left the state: Ace Alston to Notre Dame and Kei'Shjuan Telfair to Penn State (Eleven Warriors, July 1, 2026).
How this board works: every player listed here is verified against the 247Sports composite and cross-checked with published reporting before he appears. A blue chip in the band above is a four-star or five-star prospect, the line the recruiting services themselves draw between a top-class signing and a developmental one. Star ratings and national ranks move weekly during the cycle; the timestamp in the band above is the last verification date. Commits we cannot yet fully verify are counted in the totals but held off the list until sourcing is clean.
On the board and off the board track the recruits around the class rather than in it. A prospect appears there only when a named outlet has reported Ohio State's interest, and the outlet is printed on his line. Where a position or a rating has not been verified, we leave it blank instead of guessing.
When the dates on this board can move is set by the NCAA, not by us. Its published recruiting calendar decides which weeks a coach may visit a prospect, which weeks a prospect may visit campus, and which weeks nothing at all is permitted. We publish it, period by period, on the 2027 recruiting calendar.
What each of them did on Friday is the one thing this board cannot tell you. Every name listed above is playing a high school season right now, and their schedules and team results are read week by week off each school's own MaxPreps page on the 2027 commits' high school season page. Schedules and team results only, never an individual stat line. The lines outlets have printed about them this fall are collected, newest first, on the season in print.
Two services, two sets of numbers: Every rank and star grade on this board comes from On3's Industry view of the Ohio State 2027 commits page. 247Sports rates the same men and differs on every one of them, three of those on the star grade. Both numbers are printed side by side, with the outlet and the day each was read, on each recruit's own profile.
Every name above has its own profile: the facts we have verified, the reporting behind them, and every story we have published on him. They are indexed together on the class of 2027 recruit page, and the board is broken down position by position on the 2027 recruiting needs page.
Ohio State is already building the class behind this one, and it is tracked separately: the 2028 commit board lists every 2028 pledge with what each outlet says about him, because in that cycle the services do not yet agree on a single rating. None of the totals on this page include them.
- 2028 Luke Sohyda TE
- 2028 Christopher Vargas QB
- 2028 Jett Harrison WR
- 2028 Jameer Whyce POSITION DISPUTED
- 2028 Elijah Newman-Hall RB
