Illinois is Ohio State's first big recruiting weekend, and nearly all of it is 2028
Eleven Warriors counts 15 notable visitors for Saturday's noon Big Ten opener. Thirteen are juniors, one is a sophomore, and the only 2027 names are men already committed, led by quarterback Brady Edmunds on his first trip back this season.
Brady Edmunds says he decided in a Columbus hotel in June, then sat on it for a month
Ohio State's 2027 quarterback left his UCLA official visit thinking he was going to be a Bruin. Two weeks later his father texted him from a hotel lounge in Columbus, and he says the answer was yes right there. He did not say it publicly until July 23.
Brady Edmunds shut down his recruitment, and Ohio State keeps the quarterback it had no way to replace
The four-star from Huntington Beach spent his summer weighing a flip to UCLA. He says he is staying and plans to sign with Ohio State in December, a day after the class lost its top running back target.
QB commit or QB question mark? Brady Edmunds weighed Ohio State against UCLA into July
The class's only quarterback took June officials to two schools and, as of July 5, had not slammed the door. The problem: there was no clean Plan B anywhere on the board.
