A position appears under a name only where every outlet that lists one lists the same one. The services do not agree on Jameer Whyce, so his position is printed with the outlet attached on the 2028 board rather than settled here.

Christopher Vargas commits to Ohio State, and no two services list the same quarterback
The 2028 five-star from St. John's Prep chose the Buckeyes on Saturday. He is the No. 1 quarterback in the class to Rivals and to the 247Sports composite, the No. 2 on 247Sports' own board, and somewhere between 6-4 and 6-5 depending on who measured him.
Quick answers: Christopher Vargas
Every answer below is read from the outlets' own pages, in each service's own words, and nothing here is estimated, averaged or projected. Where the services disagree the outlet's name travels with the value, the same way it does on the 2028 commit board.
- Is Christopher Vargas committed to Ohio State?
- Yes. Christopher is a verified pledge in Ohio State's class of 2028, committed on , one of 5 commits on the 2028 commit board.
- What position does Christopher Vargas play?
- Quarterback (QB). 247Sports, ESPN, Eleven Warriors and Rivals all list him there.
- How tall is Christopher Vargas?
- The outlets do not list him the same, so all of their measurements are printed rather than averaged, as read on . 247Sports: 6-4.5, 195 pounds. ESPN: 6-4, 185 pounds. Eleven Warriors: 6-5, 205 pounds. Rivals: 6-4, 195 pounds. Heights and weights here are never estimated.
- Where is Christopher Vargas from?
- The outlets do not list him the same. 247Sports: St. John's Prep in Danvers, MA. ESPN: Saint John's Prep in Danvers, MA. Eleven Warriors: St. John's Prep in Danvers, MA. Rivals: St. John's Preparatory School in Lawrence, MA.
- What is Christopher Vargas' recruiting ranking?
- It depends on the service, and this site does not pick one. 247Sports: 96 rating, No. 4 nationally, No. 2 QB on its own board. ESPN: 4 stars, grade 88, ESPN 300 on its own board. Eleven Warriors: Five-star, No. 6 nationally, No. 1 QB on the 247Sports Composite. Rivals: 94 rating, No. 15 nationally, No. 1 QB on its own board. Those are two scales rather than one disagreement: the 247Sports Composite is a separate ranking from any single service's own board. Each was read on . A rating this far from signing day is at its softest, and it will move.
How we track Christopher: 247Sports, ESPN, Eleven Warriors and Rivals do not describe him the same way, so this page does not pick one of them. Every value above that carries an outlet's name in brackets is a value the services disagree on, and every value without one is a value they all state identically. The commitment date is the one fact printed with no outlet beside it, because the services publish it the same. We do not post measurables we have not read in print, film breakdowns, photos of high school recruits, or predictions. A rating this far from signing day is at its softest, and it will move.
He is one of 5 pledges on the 2028 commit board, where the same 4 outlets are printed side by side for every name. The class that is actually about to sign is the 2027 board; see every recruit on it or where it still has holes on the 2027 needs page. Board moves break first on @buckeye.recruits and land here with the full story.
