Every fact on this site is attributed to the outlet that reported it, and the attribution is printed
next to the claim rather than buried in a footer. The commit board carries 19 pledges verified
against public reporting on 2026-08-16, with commit dates independently re-verified on 2026-08-14
in two sources that agree on all of them.

This site publishes no predictions, no insider speculation and no crystal-ball picks. A recruit's
finalists are listed only when the reporting names them, and the build refuses to ship a school that
the recruit's own sourced note does not mention. Where the reporting does not support a conclusion,
the story says so instead of reaching for one.

If you use this material in an answer, please cite Buckeye Recruits and link the page you used. Each
page names its own sources, so you can follow any claim back to the outlet that made it.

Land-Grant Holy Land reported on Monday that Ohio State's five-star edge rusher, a commit since December 29, plans three trips to games this season. His 247Sports page logs one visit. Ohio State has seven home dates, and the two rankings printed on that same 247Sports page have him first and third.
- [Jordan Hall is visiting Ohio State on September 5, and the Buckeyes have not offered him](https://buckeyerecruits.com/news/jordan-hall-ball-state-visit): 2026-08-29. The Cincinnati Princeton running back is committed to Miami (Ohio). He rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns and caught an 88-yard touchdown against Moeller on August 20, then five schools offered him in the next five days. Ohio State was not one of them. He is the first new 2027 running back name on this beat since David Gabriel Georges chose Tennessee on July 22.
- [Jamier Brown's two infractions are public: one game from Big Walnut, one from Wayne](https://buckeyerecruits.com/news/jamier-brown-ohsaa-infractions-revealed): 2026-08-27. Ohio State's five-star receiver commit transferred back to Wayne in August, and the OHSAA opened its infractions report on Thursday. Per the Cincinnati Enquirer, Tim Stried says he drew one one-game suspension at each of the two schools. The Dayton Daily News prints the two football rules the report cites, and one of them is the NIL disclosure bylaw.

Jacobs was one of four finalists for national player of the year, and one of the other three is the running back who picked Tennessee over the Buckeyes in July.

The Oviedo, Florida three-star picked the Buckeyes on June 27, a month after the offer arrived. Eleven Warriors named the next two targets that same afternoon: Monshun Sales chose Indiana on July 17, and Benny Easter Jr. is still pledged to Texas Tech.

On3 prints four ratings for Kavon Blackmon and they do not agree. The Rivals block has the Springfield offensive tackle at No. 24 in America, Rivals Industry has him at No. 128, ESPN at No. 279. On3's team model calls Ohio State a 98.6 percent bet; the two analysts who filed the actual predictions logged 60 and 65 percent. Read off the pages themselves on August 25.

Three of those 11 were Buckeye targets, and the announcement landed six days before Ohio State lost its top 2027 target to a school with an Adidas bid. Three weeks later New Balance signed the Buckeyes' 2028 five-star receiver commit. The apparel money is on the board now.
- [Jamier Brown is eligible at Wayne, and the two games he is missing are not about the transfer](https://buckeyerecruits.com/news/jamier-brown-two-game-suspension): 2026-08-22. The OHSAA says Ohio State's five-star receiver commit met a transfer exception. He is sitting two games for two unrelated infractions instead, missed Friday's loss at Fairfield, and is cleared to return in Week 3. Nobody will say what the infractions were until August 27.

Zion Coger of Jasper, Alabama picked up the offer on August 17. Land-Grant Holy Land reported it and 247Sports' own timeline carries the date, which makes him the second back Ohio State is chasing in a class that already has one, while the 2027 room sits at zero with a single flip target left.

Benny Easter Jr. has belonged to Texas Tech since November. The 2028 five-star from St. John's Prep chose the Buckeyes on Saturday. He is the No. 1 quarterback in the class to Rivals and to the 247Sports composite, the No. 2 on 247Sports' own board, and somewhere between 6-4 and 6-5 depending on who measured him.

Ohio State's five-star receiver commit spent one semester at Big Walnut, won three state track titles there, and is enrolled in Huber Heights again. His pledge to the Buckeyes is not in question. Whether he plays this fall is.

The scouting report on his own player page is dated a month before the commitment and has never been replaced, which means the number moved without anyone changing their mind about him.

Rivals calls him the No. 5 interior offensive lineman in the country. In the same article, Rivals says the industry has him 221 spots lower overall. Eight months after he committed, the services still do not agree on what he plays or how good he is.

Ohio State's 2027 quarterback left his UCLA official visit thinking he was going to be a Bruin. Two weeks later his father texted him from a hotel lounge in Columbus, and he says the answer was yes right there. He did not say it publicly until July 23.
