A series is not a beat. A beat is derived from a story's own tag: it is open ended, newest first, and whatever we file under it belongs to it. A series is curated, finite and ordered, because in a series the order is the argument. The six beats we file to every week are at the beat index, and the newest work on any of them runs on the commits beat.
