Ohio State’s 2027 class is 19 commitments spread over 18 high schools, because St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale has two of them. On Friday, September 25, sixteen of those schools had a game on their MaxPreps pages. Fourteen won and none lost. The other two are not on our tally: Millbrook’s game has not finished, and Massillon’s page does not say whom it played.

As every week, this is put together from the places the night was actually recorded: each school’s own MaxPreps schedule page for the final scores, and the reporters who wrote up a game by name.

The scores

Every final below is the school’s own MaxPreps schedule page, as it read on Sunday, September 27. These are TEAM results. A school’s win is not a claim that its commit played, and where we know he did, a section below says so and names who reported it.

Won (14):

  • Blessed Trinity Catholic (DJ Jacobs) won 17-14 at Marist and is 5-0.
  • Wayne (Jamier Brown) won 49-24 at Northmont and is 3-3.
  • Sierra Canyon (Marcus Fakatou) beat Pacifica 42-10 and is 5-0.
  • Jackson Academy (Caden Moss) won 49-0 at St. Joseph Catholic and is 6-0.
  • Liberty Center (Kellen Wymer) won 38-6 at Patrick Henry and is 6-0.
  • Blue Springs South (Prince Goldsby) won 45-14 at Park Hill and is 3-2.
  • Ramsay (Karlos May) beat Pinson Valley 34-26 and is 5-1.
  • Cibolo Steele (Eli Johnson) won 64-28 at Pieper and is 3-1-1.
  • Central Catholic (Jimmy Kalis) won 62-0 at Seneca Valley and is 5-0.
  • Bishop Watterson (Davis Seaman) beat St. Francis DeSales 32-0 and is 6-0.
  • St. Clairsville (Mason Wilt) beat Wheeling Park 49-7 and is 1-5.
  • Godwin (Brody McNeel) won 51-6 at J.R. Tucker and is 3-2.
  • Oviedo (Jordan Donahoo) won 61-13 at East River and is 4-2.
  • Chaminade-Madonna (Angelo Smith) beat Saint Andrew’s 48-3 and is 4-1.

Not final: Millbrook (Quinton Cypher) and Rolesville were 10-10 when regulation ended. MaxPreps prints that as a tie; it is not one, and the next section says why. We count it as nothing until a final posts.

Not counted: Massillon Washington (Deontay Malone) now has a September 25 game with a final score on its MaxPreps page, but the page names the opponent only as “Varsity Opponent.” That is MaxPreps’ stand-in for a team it has no page for, not a school. Don Engelhardt wrote before the game that Massillon would host Football North, the all-star team from Ontario (last week’s report), but the page does not say that is whom it played. A result we cannot put an opponent’s name to stays off our tally, so the 5-0 record we give Massillon does not include it.

Did not play: St. Thomas Aquinas (Wyatt Smith and Jaden Carey), 5-0, and Huntington Beach (Brady Edmunds), 5-0, had no game on their pages.

St. Clairsville’s 49-7 win over Wheeling Park is its first of the season, after an 0-5 start. Jackson Academy, Central Catholic and Bishop Watterson won by shutout. After the week, ten of the 18 schools have not lost a game, and those ten carry eleven of the nineteen commitments. Two of those records are floors: Millbrook’s 4-0 leaves out the unfinished Rolesville game, and Massillon’s 5-0 leaves out the game above.

A 10-10 that is not a final

Ben McCormick of HighSchoolOT reported the Millbrook game on Saturday. Play was stopped with 8:16 left after fights near the concession stands, and it resumed with the stands emptied. The teams were level at 10-10 when regulation ended, and the overtime was postponed to a date to be determined. Rolesville plays Richmond on Monday, September 28, first.

A North Carolina high school game does not end in a tie after overtime, so the 10-10 MaxPreps prints is a score that has not finished happening. Until MaxPreps posts a different final, it is left out of Millbrook’s record here and on Quinton Cypher’s page, and the season page says why.

Jamier Brown at Northmont

Ron Nunnari of The Register-Herald covered the game from Northmont’s side, and Jamier Brown is in his account once:

“Jamier Brown scored on a 16 yard pass from Graham early in the third quarter to boost Wayne’s lead to 28-17.”

Nunnari credits quarterback Kye Graham with 284 passing yards and three touchdowns, and Northmont with five turnovers. Wayne is 3-0 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference, tied with Springfield, which is where Wayne plays next.

“An Ohio State commit on their D-line”

Ramsay beat Pinson Valley 34-26 on homecoming night in Birmingham. John Goolsby of The Trussville Tribune wrote the game up from Pinson Valley’s side, and its coach, Logan Colafrancesco, said this about the team that beat his:

“We played a really good team. They’ve got a Clemson and an Ohio State commit on their D-line, and we were without five starters tonight due to injury.”

Ramsay’s Ohio State commit is defensive tackle Karlos May. Goolsby’s story does not name him or say what he did in the game, so neither do we.

Friday, October 2

Fifteen of the eighteen schools list a game. Kickoff times are local, from each school’s MaxPreps page as read on Sunday, September 27.

Cibolo Steele, Bishop Watterson and Oviedo list no game that week.

Two of those are worth circling. Wayne at Springfield is, by Nunnari’s count, the two teams tied at the top of the Greater Western Ohio Conference. And St. Thomas Aquinas at Chaminade-Madonna puts three Ohio State 2027 pledges on one field: Wyatt Smith and Jaden Carey on one side, Angelo Smith on the other.

Every school’s schedule, with each game in your own calendar if you want it, is on /season. Every current-season line we have printed is on The players’ own stat lines, and the class itself, all nineteen names with the reporting behind each, is on the board.
