Ohio State’s 2027 class is 20 commitments as of November 1, spread over 19 high schools, and 12 of the 19 have a result for the week: Central Catholic and Millbrook on Thursday, October 29, and the other ten on Friday, October 30. Eleven won, and the one loss was by a point.
Five Ohio schools still playing
Six of the class’s schools are in Ohio, and five of them are in the OHSAA’s regional quarterfinals on Friday, November 6. The OHSAA’s bracket release on October 25 gave the top four seeds in each region a first-round bye and said the better seed hosts through the first three rounds, so four of the five sat out last Friday and host this one.
- Jamier Brown’s Wayne, the No. 4 seed in Division I, Region 2, hosts Beavercreek, the region’s No. 12 seed.
- Davis Seaman’s Bishop Watterson, the No. 1 seed in Division II, Region 7, hosts Whitehall-Yearling, the No. 8 seed.
- Deontay Malone’s Massillon Washington, No. 3 in the same region, hosts St. Francis DeSales, the No. 6 seed.
- Kellen Wymer’s Liberty Center, the No. 1 seed in Division VI, Region 22, hosts Paulding, the No. 9 seed.
The fifth is the only one that had to win its way in. James Conrad’s St. Ignatius, the No. 8 seed in Division I, Region 1, beat No. 9 Berea-Midpark 49-14 at home on Friday, and the bracket sends the winner of that game to the region’s No. 1 seed, St. Edward. St. Ignatius has already played St. Edward this season and lost 31-14 on October 2. The school’s own schedule lists Friday’s game at St. Edward’s home field, First Federal Stadium of Lakewood. Its MaxPreps page shows the game as a St. Ignatius home game, which does not square with the OHSAA’s rule that the better seed hosts, so we go with the school and the OHSAA on where it is played.
The sixth Ohio school, Mason Wilt’s St. Clairsville, finished 4-6 on its MaxPreps page and is not among the OHSAA’s playoff pairings.
The scores
Every final below is the school’s own MaxPreps schedule page, as it read on Sunday, November 1. These are TEAM results. A school’s win is not a claim that its commit played.

- Blessed Trinity Catholic (DJ Jacobs) beat Chattahoochee 70-7 and is 9-0.
- Sierra Canyon (Marcus Fakatou) beat Bishop Amat 56-7 and is 10-0.
- St. Thomas Aquinas (Wyatt Smith and Jaden Carey) won 49-8 at West Broward and is 10-0.
- Blue Springs South (Prince Goldsby) won 24-21 at Lee’s Summit North and is 5-5.
- Millbrook (Quinton Cypher) won by forfeit over Corinth Holders on Thursday and is 9-0.
- Huntington Beach (Brady Edmunds) beat Laguna Beach 35-14 and is 10-0.
- Cibolo Steele (Eli Johnson) beat Canyon 49-10 and is 7-1-1.

- Godwin (Brody McNeel) beat Thomas Jefferson 23-6 and is 4-5.
- Chaminade-Madonna (Angelo Smith) won 34-7 at Coconut Creek and is 8-2.
- St. Ignatius (James Conrad) beat Berea-Midpark 49-14 and is 5-5.
Lost (1):
- Oviedo (Jordan Donahoo) lost 30-29 at home to Seminole and is 7-3.
Did not play (7):
- Wayne (Jamier Brown), 6-4, on a first-round bye.
- Liberty Center (Kellen Wymer), 10-0, on a first-round bye.
- Massillon Washington (Deontay Malone), 7-1, on a first-round bye.
- Bishop Watterson (Davis Seaman), 9-0, on a first-round bye.
- Jackson Academy (Caden Moss), 8-2, which plays at Jackson Prep on November 6.
- Ramsay (Karlos May), 6-4, which lists no later game.
- St. Clairsville (Mason Wilt), 4-6, which lists no later game.
Millbrook’s game page on MaxPreps says Corinth Holders “lost by forfeit,” so Millbrook’s win carries no score here, and we do not count it as a shutout. Central Catholic was the week’s only shutout winner, and no class school was shut out. After the week, eight of the 19 schools have not lost a game, the same eight as a week earlier, and they carry nine of the twenty commitments. Three records are floors: Millbrook’s 9-0 leaves out its September 25 game with Rolesville, which MaxPreps still shows at 10-10 with the overtime unplayed, and Massillon’s 7-1 and St. Ignatius’s 5-5 each leave out one row whose opponent the school’s MaxPreps page names two different ways.
Roberts has not announced
Eleven Warriors’ Dan Hope reported on October 24 that Ohio State was a finalist for Tranard Roberts, a three-star Florida running back who was set to announce his commitment on Monday, October 26, from a final four of Georgia, Miami, North Carolina and Ohio State. Hope wrote that the Buckeyes were not expected to be the choice. As of early Sunday, November 1, Roberts’ 247Sports page shows no commitment. Its timeline’s newest entry is an unofficial visit to South Florida on October 31, and its one Crystal Ball prediction is North Carolina. He is not on the board, and we will report his decision when he makes it.
Friday, November 6
Ten of the nineteen schools list a game that week. Sierra Canyon, St. Thomas Aquinas, Ramsay, Huntington Beach, Central Catholic, St. Clairsville, Oviedo and Chaminade-Madonna list none yet, and Millbrook carries a row with no date and an opponent shown only as “TBA Opponent”, which we print once it has both. Kickoff times are local, from each school’s MaxPreps page as read on Sunday, November 1. A slate is a schedule; it says nothing about who will play.
- Cibolo Steele (Eli Johnson) at Clemens, Thursday, November 5, 7 p.m.
- Blessed Trinity Catholic (DJ Jacobs) hosts Cambridge, 7:30 p.m.
- Wayne (Jamier Brown) hosts Beavercreek, 7 p.m.
- Jackson Academy (Caden Moss) at Jackson Prep, 7 p.m.
- Liberty Center (Kellen Wymer) hosts Paulding, 7 p.m.
- Blue Springs South (Prince Goldsby) hosts Rock Bridge, kickoff time not yet listed.
- Massillon Washington (Deontay Malone) hosts St. Francis DeSales, 7 p.m.
- Bishop Watterson (Davis Seaman) hosts Whitehall-Yearling, 7 p.m.
- Godwin (Brody McNeel) hosts Deep Run, 7 p.m.
- St. Ignatius (James Conrad) at St. Edward, 7 p.m., at First Federal Stadium of Lakewood, per the school’s schedule.
Every school’s schedule, with each game in your own calendar if you want it, is on /season. Every current-season line we have printed is on The players’ own stat lines, and the class itself, all twenty names with the reporting behind each, is on the board.
