Jordan Hall made the trip. Last week this site reported that the Princeton running back was due at Ohio Stadium for the Kent State game on an official visit. Two outlets now put him there.

Garrick Hodge of Bucknuts, 247Sports’ Ohio State site, filed his photo gallery on Saturday afternoon under the line “The Buckeyes hosted 2027 running back Jordan Hall on an official visit.” Mick Walker of Lettermen Row, On3’s Ohio State site, published his confirmed visitors list on Sunday with Hall’s name in the story’s address. Both pieces are behind paywalls past their opening lines, and we have not read further than that.

No date, and no second pick

The newest reporting is from Dan Hessler of Land-Grant Holy Land on Tuesday. Hessler writes that Hall “took an official visit with the Buckeyes” and that “Hall has not set a commitment date, so there is still time for him to spur the Buckeyes in favor of another team.” He also quotes a Sunday post from Walker: “You could see a big jump in his comfort level in the Shoe.”

That is the whole of the reported news, and it is worth being plain about what it is not. Nobody has reported a commitment, a date, or a plan to announce one. Hall is still uncommitted, and he is still listed as an open target on the board.

The forecasts have not moved either. On3’s predictions page for Hall, read on Wednesday, still lists exactly one insider pick: Steve Wiltfong’s, dated September 17 at 9:17 AM, for Ohio State, at 60 percent confidence. It was filed two days before the visit, and in the five days since, nobody has added a second. On3’s industry consensus now counts 19 schools and prints Ohio State at 95.4 percent, a tenth of a point under last week’s read, and Miami (Ohio) at 3.6 percent. His 247Sports page still says “No Crystal Ball predictions at this time.”

The room he would join

Ohio State’s class of 2027 has nineteen pledges and still no running back. On Tuesday, three days after Hall’s visit, Ryan Day made the case for the position from the other end. Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors reports that Day came out of the Kent State film unhappy with his backs at the second level:

“I thought we had some really good big holes in the game, and those should have been explosive plays and they weren’t.”

Hope counts 145 rushing yards and four touchdowns against Kent State, but only four carries of 10 yards or more and none longer than 17. Day singled out Bo Jackson and Isaiah West: “We all know what Bo and Isaiah both can do, so we need to see those guys really run angry. That’s the bottom line.”

None of that is about Hall. It is the room a 2027 back would walk into, described by the head coach in the same week the one uncommitted back on this board came to see it.

Where he stands, by the numbers we carry

The 247Sports Composite still rates Hall 0.8744. His national rank moved one spot, from No. 847 to No. 848, on the same rating; he is No. 60 among running backs and No. 32 in Ohio. The board now carries the new number.

Princeton is 5-0 by the MaxPreps schedule this site reads. It beat Lakota West 27-24 at home the night before the visit and plays at Lakota East on Friday.

What would settle this

A commitment date, from Hall or from an outlet that has talked to him. Hessler says there is not one yet. When there is, this site will report it and date it, and if he picks Ohio State he becomes the first running back in the class.
